First edition, first printing hardcover copy of The Long White Month by Dean Marshall (E. P. Dutton & Company, 1942). Incredibly rare vintage children’s book, a true first edition with scarce original jacket. With illustrations by Theresa Kalah. Heavily worn jacket now protected in new archival sleeve. Residue from tape once being placed around all edges of jacket, with tears and chipping in those areas as well. Boards faintly soiled from handling and with corners bumped. Slight liquid damage to bottom edge of boards and text block, causing waviness and some mild discoloration. Previous owner’s inscription on front endpaper. A few instances of mildly split binding though spine is straight, all pages are attached and binding remains quite strong on the whole. Tanning pages. See photos for condition.
