ZEUTHEN Mid-Century Candle Holder DENMARK Hand Painted by Edith NIELSEN, Danish Studio Pottery in beautiful condition.
Danish Studio Potter Edith Nielsen Hand Painted for Zeuthen Ceramic Company of Denmark. This Company opened in 1948. Edith was the primary designer. She used thick white opaque glaze on an unglazed terracotta surface to create simple but effective repeating patterns on her ceramics. The white glaze was applied using a slip trailing method of application leaving the glaze raised from the flat matte surface of the clay.
The interiors have a solid white shiny glaze.
The bottom has a solid white glazed centre with Zeuthen Denmark hand printed in Blue.
