Professor, painter and book illustrator, her works are held by the Smithsonian, Stanford, the Natural History Museum, California Academy of Sciences & Washington State University archives. Chloe Lesley Starks (Chloe Frances Lesley) studied at the Academie Colarossi, Paris, the Corcoran Gallery of Art, Washington DC & Stanford University, where she studied drawing from 1893-1897. from 1900-1932 she was an art professor at Stanford.
This beautiful watercolor is in it's original antique frame with gold paint on wood and green velvet trim. Painting is in perfect condition, but the frame has some damage (see pics)
