Bird on a Cherry Blossom circa 1979 Lin-Art pictures were created by the ancient art of Chokin which was used to decorate the armament of the Samurai Warriors during the Feudal Period of Japan
(1192-1858). This technique is practiced on a limited scale today and has been handed down thru the generations.
It is a delicate handcraft of gilding the copper plate with gold and silver and applying acids to create a colorful engraved surface.
This piece is signed by the artist and
numbered #114. It is in excellent condition on the front… but a tear in the paper backing in the back.
