Frida is made of muslin, stuffed with fiberfill, and painted with high quality acrylics. Her head, body and limbs are independent pieces stitched together.
Her clothing was entirely hand sewn, stitched permanently to her body. Frida wears a long-printed skirt in dark red and pink flowers. Her white Huipil (blouse) is embroidered at the base of the neck with the simplified Aztec symbol Ollin, which means “movement”. Frida painted herself wearing the same top in “Self portrait with monkeys”
Her hair is made of needle felted wood, and permanently braided in the traditional Tehuana Style. Frida is able to stand by herself. She stands 3” tall. Frida is signed and dated on the back.
