This lot is for Vintage 2 Piece Arnold Wiigs Fabrikker Norwegian Studio Pottery Plaque & Plate in excellent condition.
The plaque, entitled Viking, is approximately 20 inches long, with a top width of approximately 6 inches, gradually tapering to a bottom width of 3.25 inches. The beautiful cloissonne style enamel painted plaque features a VIking in full garb, which appears to be standing on land in the foreground and two ships sailing on the sea in the background. The back of the plaque is numbered 1005 with the title Viking, and the artist's inscripted signature between the words Norway Halden.
The plate, entitled Hardanger, is a beautiful 10 Art Plate by Arnold Wiigs. The cloissonne type heavy enamel glaze on gray matte pottery makes it truly unique looking. The picture features a Scandinavian girl on a hill in the foreground, who appears to be walking toward a church in the background with beautiful trees surrounding the church and snowy mountaintops in the distance.
