This is an amazing hand stitched flour sack quilt top, dating from the 1940s or 50s. Wide strips around the outside & a log cabin center design. Two photos show the hand stitching. It is made just like my grandmother did, where the quilt fit just on the top of the bed & not draped around the edges as we are used to now. She was a country gal through & through! The colors are very vibrant! The fabric still has a good hand to it, I think it may have only been washed once. Can see from seams, it has been washed - a good thing as if you choose to finish it it reduces the chances of it shrinking. Size app 78”x71”. Fits full size w/drape. Queen as a topper.
Strips inc: tomatoes, paisley, pink roses, music staff (also has Spanish dancers), leaves, mid century stylized houses & primary colored swashes. The center seems to be of regular fabric, some textured. Maybe that’s why the center is different!
Perfect for farmhouse, country or Boho decor...use as a wall hanging - even a headboard.
