It says 1971 was the year for the Redskins and the fans in Washington, DC Their new coach declared The future is now! , and utilized veteran players over younger draft choices. The Over the Hill Gang took the Redskins to to a 9-4-1 record and their first playoff appearance in 26 years. Washington loved it and R.F. Kennedy Stadium became the entertainment palace of the town once again.
