The beautiful oil painting on gold pan is a unique piece of Americana art by Alakan artist, Judy Holtmann. The 7 round pan is hand-painted in autumn colors and depicts an Alaskan cabin in the mountains. It is meant to be hung on the wall like an oil painting and comes with attached wall hanger. Certificate of Authentication included.
Good condition - no chips, cracks, crackling. Minor scratches near wall hangers clips (see picture) but barely noticeable.
The pan begins as a flat, round piece of steel. The metal is then mounted on a lathe and hand spun to its present form, that of a real gold miner's pan. Since these are individually hand spun, no two pans are exactly the same. To prepare the surface for painting, the artist then removes an oil film left by the spinning process by baking it in an oven. She then follows by using oil paints with a selected medium to produce the scenes and to achieve lasting texture and color.
