What is a prototype or sample?
After a product is designed, the creator sends her design to a factory to bring his idea to life. A designer takes the artist's initial drawings and brings it into 3D form. If the creator likes what she sees, she takes that product to various trade shows to display to large companies who have an interest in carrying her toy line. At this point the prototype becomes a sample that the buyer can pick up and touch, though in-effect a prototype and a sample are usually used interchangeably.
