Antique/Rare: Memoirs of a Tattooist: From the Notes, Diaries and Letters of the Late 'King of Tattooists' by George Burchett with Peter Leighton (compiler and editor).
This is a First American Edition published in 1958 - the same year as the British first edition (Oldbourne Book Company).
With a career spanning over fifty years, George Burchett tattooed everyone from servicemen to royalty and earning himself the title of ‘King of Tattooists’.
Book features an iconic Paul Rand designed dust jacket in very good condition. Dust jacket is not price clipped. Book is bound in red cloth with gold lettering stamped on spine with a small stain on the cover and spine (see photo #10). Book has 3 stars printed on the bottom edge (photo #4).
Book contains black and white illustrations and photos throughout and is 222 pages. An amazing piece of history for the tattoo artist or aficionado.
