Introduced by Culture publications, the “Spicy” pulps were an outgrowth of the so-called “girlie” magazines from the late 20’s and early 1930’s. Extremely popular with the general reading population, Detective Stories made its newstand debut with the April 1934 issue combining crime fiction and, by the standards of the time, softcore pornography.
Nice presenting, complete and unrestored issue from 1937 with great colors on a glossy cover. Minor chipping to the front cover and bottom spine. Small piece missing from the bottom, left hand corner of front cover with slight oxidation to staples. Front cover, back cover and all pages completely attached and intact with excellent page quality.
