This comes from a set of five (5) Small Philadelphia Mint Visit PRESIDENTIAL MEDALS featuring consecutive Presidents Warren Harding - 1923, Calvin Coolidge - 1928, Herbert Hoover - 1931, Franklin Roosevelt - 1938, and Harry Truman - 1947. The obverses show their portraits as on the Presidential medals while the reverses show the Philadelphia Mint.

The medal obverses were engraved by John Ray Sinnock and the common reverses were engraved by A. Pietz. As one seller has noted, It is similar to the small Presidential Inaugural but the reverse has the front view of the US MINT building in Philadelphia and the surrounding legend: MINT OF THE UNITED STATES *PHILADELPHIA. The medal has no date above the word PHILADELPHIA, adding, The genesis of this series began with a suggestion by Farran Zerbe in 1909 that a small medal be struck to commemorate visits to the Philadelphia Mint.
