No collection of Mata Ortiz pottery is complete without a piece by Felix, one of the pioneers and most influential potters of this magical movement. Felix started pottery making in the early 70's and developed his own methods and designs.
Felix had been very ill for the last couple of years and was unable to paint his pottery work as he used to. Yet this setback had not stopped him from creating beautiful pottery such as this. His figures still retain the exceptional form and expression Felix was known for.
Felix Ortiz passed away in October 2005
