Jim Goldberg's seminal work, Raised By Wolves, is an epic narrative that collages ten years of photographs, text, film, and installations documenting the lives of runaway teenagers in San Francisco and Los Angeles during the late 1980s and early 1990s.
Fingerprint reproduces and collects previously unpublished Polaroids taken for this project. These Polaroids were used as sketches for later photographs and as gifts to the subjects themselves. Some of these photographs feature handwritten text declaring the teenagers' identities, challenges, and resilience, while others capture the quiet realities of life on the streets.
Forty-five loose-leaf reproductions of Polaroids are housed in a box set, creating a fresh and intimate fragmented account of this classic body of work.
