Tanzanite and Diamonds!
Separate or together these tanzanite stones have a gorgeous color.
The ladies 14kt white gold ring has a .50ct. tanzanite oval stone and .25ct. of round and baguette diamonds.
Size 7
The band ring is set in platinum with round tanzanite and diamonds.
Size 6.5
Purchased from Goldsmith’s jewelry department in late 1990’s. They are not an actual matching set as one is set in gold and the other in platinum. I did use them together as a set because they do match well.
Tanzanite is 1000 times rarer than diamond!
Tanzanite was discovered in Tanzania in 1967. Tiffany & Co. introduced it to the world in 1968. It was Tiffany who named it Tanzanite after the country of the stones origin. There is a limited amount which will be mined out in the near future.
