This is a limited edition 2-disc DVD set featuring early animated shorts of the legendary Mickey Mouse. Mickey was an instant hit with the moviegoing public, and he soon graduated from black and white to color films. The widespread popularity of these films laid the foundation for Walt Disney Studios, a name synonymous with family entertainment for decades. Note: most of these shorts are not available on the Disney+ streaming service.
The set picks up where Volume One left off, covering Mickey's color films from 1939 to his last short in 1953. It includes 18 films, plus notable Mickey appearances in feature films such as The Sorcerer's Apprentice and Mickey and the Beanstalk .
This set was released in 2004 as part of the third series of Disney DVDs in collectible tin cases, chronicling the development of Disney's iconic characters as well as the art of film animation.
