Sells an interesting vintage inkstone that appears to be cast stone. It's a huge size, measuring about 15 long and 10 wide and weighing over 10.5 pounds unboxed.
With the exception of the eye being pure green, it has a smooth appearance, a cool feel, and is similar in color to Duan Stone or Tank Stone. We think this inkstone may be Japanese, but it may also be Chinese. It is cast and chased with a pearl or hoju chasing the flame of wisdom, in the cloud, in front of the dragon. Because of its smooth texture, it is a good stone for grinding fine ink sticks. Age unknown - our guess is the last quarter of the 20th century.
