Vintage Japanese Motif Royal Chrysanthemum in the Center of a Ship's Wheel Tie Clip Tested 22K-24K Yellow Gold Overlay on Top and Marked SILVER on the Bottom.
This special historical piece of Men's Fashion or Military Costume was found by my father while he was metal detecting on Ala Moana Beach at the end of Diamond Head in Honolulu Aug 10, 1988. The original slip of paper written on by my dad is with the tie clip. I personally tested the gold on the emblem and it showed 22 karat or greater. The actual tie clip is not sterling silver, but is an aged silver tone metal.
The gold wheel emblem measures approx 1/2 inch in diameter. The tie clip measures 1 3/4 inches wide x 1/4 inch tall x 1/2 inch deep.
