As the name suggests, this is a Nigel Cabourn vest made to resemble the texture of a burlap sack used for coffee beans and other grains, using the new BEAN SACK fabric.
The fabric is a cross weave with hemp for the warp and linen for the weft, resulting in a fabric with a moderate firmness and the roughness of hemp.
At the time, burlap sacks were marked with colors and patterns to distinguish farms and production areas. This product takes that historical background into account and features a single stripe at the bottom.
The zipper is by Waldes, and it can be worn as a reversible garment.
I bought it new and intended to wear it, but it's an unused item, only stored in the closet!
