Isaac (Isac) Vasquez Garcia, who revived the fading natural dyeing and spread Oaxaca rugs to the world, captivating collectors worldwide.
In 1973, an event called THREE MASTER WEAVERS was held in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA, introducing three weavers (Isaac Vasquez Garcia / Alberto Vasquez / Ismael Gutierrez) representing the village of Teotitlán, the birthplace of Oaxaca rugs.
It is said that this event had a significant impact on the folk movement centered around Santa Fe at the time, and Teotitlán village and Oaxaca rugs became instantly famous.
