SALE!! REDUCED!! PRICE SHOWN REFLECTS A $30 PRICE REDUCTION!!(**PLEASE SEE NOTE BELOW.)Rare estate piece of Rookwood Pottery. When researching this piece of vintage Rookwood, I found 2 of the same vases that sold for $230 (in 2022) & a whopping $813 (in 2024), at auctions. While I personally think over $800 is a lot, there are Rookwood pieces that have sold for thousands of dollars.Rookwood, one of the oldest, and most desirable, pottery brands to collect, is located in Cincinnati, OH. The company was founded in 1880, closed in 1967 & re-opened in 2004. The company is still open today. This piece is a Celadon Green Glazed Circle, or "Canteen", shaped vase. There are no chips, cracks, or flaws, but there is overall "crazing", which is almost a given with highly glazed vintage pottery. When dispayed, the crazing isn't really noticeable. The vase measures 8", in height, 7" in width, the side flat areas are 1 1/2", but the front to back "thicknes" is 2 1/2"-3". The top opening is 3 1/4" x 2 1/4", and the bottom, "foot" of the vase is 3 1/4" x 1 3/4". The bottom is marked with the Rookwood initials "RP" (backwards "R") surrounded by flames, and the markings, XLV1, and mold number 6706, indicating it was made in 1945-1946.**Please note that the total bundle packed weight has to be less than 5 lbs.
