STYLISH VINTAGE BLACK VELVET RETRO CLOCHE - GROSGRAIN BAND + LARGE JEWEL HATPIN

This is a beautiful and elegant black velvet cloche reminiscent of the grand cloches from the 1930s'! This flexible and pliable hat is made of soft velvet and it consists of a tubular crown which is flat at the top. The short crown is asymmetrical, and is upturned at one side, and the elongated opposite side is turned down. There is a wide black grosgrain band across the crown, which ends in a crisscross at the side where it features a large jewel head hatpin, and the band streams down. Please note that for safety concerns, the stem of the hatpin has been taped with black tape inside the hat. The tape can stay while worn,. or discarded.Cloche hats or otherwise called slouch hats were a very fitted hat usually made of a felt material that were bell shaped. The front brim could be floppy or sturdy and was used to cover the forehead and eyes. The label glued to the inside states it is Union made in the USA and has a number.This is an authentic piece of fashion history!
