LAVISH 1940s RED AND GREEN FELT HAT WITH GREEN FEATHER TRIM

This is an outstanding red and green felt hat consisting of a red felt crown surrounded by a rounded hollow brim in the same red felt, and a flat green felt bottom edged in the same green felt. Stunning green feathers pierce the brim, further enhancing this show-stopper. There is a green felt hat pin attached, as well as an elastic band to hold the hat in place if needed. Shayne Chicago"The New York Creation label first appeared in the year 1940 and is seen into the late 1950s.The label was created when a group of milliners and manufactures pooled their talents and resources with the goal of keeping American styles competitive with French styles.Some of the designers were well known but chose to remain anonymous when designing in support of the New York Creation label.The label itself is usually white and blue, is relatively small and frequently states the hat size. The hat is in wonderful vintage condition, lovingly preserved among over 1300 vintage hats we have collected for 40+ years. Mannequin not for sale.
