SOPHISTICATED 1930s' LIGHT BLUE FELT HAT WITH GATHERED STRIPS & MATCHING VEIL

This is truly an outstanding light blue 1930s' felt hat consisting of a tall, conical brimless crown which tilts forward and has an indentation tab the top. The front of the crown is artfully trimmed with felt and grosgrain bands made to look like waves. This is one of the unusual hat styles of the era. The look is finished by a matching and intact heavy veil, which can be placed on top of the hat, or worn over the face, as was the style of the era.Label: NEW YORK CREATION - Sz 22The New York Dress Institute was formed in 1941 by fashion publicist Eleanor Lambert as a joint venture between the clothing manufacturers of New York City and the ILGWU.
