EXQUISITE 1940s' BROWN METALLIC STRAW FASCINATOR HAT WITH FABRIC ROSES & VEIL

This little metallic brown straw hat from the 1940s' consists of a crown which adjusts to the sides of the head.It is made of wide strips of ingeniously woven & folded straw. They create peaks at the top sides. The center of the folds at the top features beautiful cream colored roses + green stems at the back. Over this beautiful fashion statement there is a unique & long spider veil in excellent condition. The veil can cover the face, or be placed on top and back over the hair. The straw lookS like it is 'metallic', and quite unusual compared to other straw hats. This is a treasure!The wartime 40’s saw a huge variety of hats that were suitable for any face shape, hairstyle or personal preference. Throughout the war & on both sides of the Atlantic, elaborate creations brightened dreary utility fashions, brought about by rationing.Explosions of feathers, veiling & artificial flowers were popular.
