This is an impressive sample of the elegant millinery hats of the 1930s'. This small hat consists of a crown made of somewhat flexible black fabric, which is embellished by a wide straw band that covers its on a diagonal at the front, and surrounds the bottom of the hat. At the top there is a black grosgrain bow, from which a beautiful black ostrich feather falls to the side. This hat is to be worn in an asymmetrical way, as photographed. the inside is lined with a shiny black fabric. This look is so elegant!Women’s 1930s hats were small and simple in decoration, yet their shaping was a work of art. Folded, molded, and angled felt made hats look like something out of a Picasso painting. Hats were normally worn asymmetrically & slightly tilted or propped to one side of the head.There is no designer label, indicating it was a custom-made creation.This is an authentic piece of fashion history! This hat is in wonderful vintage condition & has been lovingly preserved among over 1300 vintage hats we have collected for 40+ years. Feathers, straw, flowers & veils are fragile, given their age.
