The top is trimmed with feathers at the neckline and at the flaring hem; the arms are finished with ruffled nylon. The matching low-waist panties have a fluted elastic waist/hip band, a sheer double nylon gusset and are trimmed with feathers at the legs.Virginia Wallace, a top California designer, started her career in 1947, designing a plaid taffeta petticoat, which started a trend. In the 1960s, she also created gowns and bridal sets inspired by the couturier collections.
