Excellent condition, no chips or cracks.Vintage 1970's-80's art glass and research on this item found:This is a non-silver based blue core egg with streaks made with tweezers and a piece of silver bromide, which looks sort of like someone took a marker line-wise to it. A solid chunk of silver bromide was then liquified as it hits the heat of the glass so that it appears like writing. The off-white is the silver reducing really hard, then the silver bromide gasses off a bit and that is how the little bubbles got trapped.Glass making enterprise set up by an English man, Michael Harris in 1968. After he returned to England and founded the Isle of Wight studio, the main glass blower/designer was Michael Dobson. This piece was made mid 80's, a design said to reflect the sand and sea of the area and which proved popular with tourists. Many of the pieces being small enough to fit safely in their return flight baggage which helped with sales.Measures approximately 3 1/2" tall x 3" diameter at widest point.
