A Pair of 2 Japanese Uchikake Wedding KimonosVibrant, rich and visually stunning.From early 20th century Japan, this set of Uchikake Wedding Kimonos were designed as a pair and meant to compliment each other.Both have metallic iridescent brocade of red and orange silk decorated with auspicious Japanese symbols and motifs associated with happy marriage, union, long life and children. Both kimonos are lined in red, and were meant to be worn as an outer coat during a traditional Japanese wedding ceremony.Absolutely stunning items. I've never experienced anything like them. When you put it on you really feel as if you are a part of something bigger than yourself: tradition, ritual, joy. They are very very long, and the bottom of both has a bunting of cotton wrapped in silk which makes the long train sit elegantly on the floor.I am listing these together, because they were designed as a pair, but if you are interested in only one, I am willing to discuss separating them.Size doesn't apply so much (though I've provided length) because the garment was designed as outwear, worn over the wedding costume and is extremely large.
