Navajo, Vincent Joe Platero, Sr. is a reknowned artist and silversmith from Tohajiilee, New Mexico, who designed and made the Vintage Collection for Rocki Gorman. Born in 1957,Vincent grew up as part of the Navajo Edgewater and Black Streak Clans and learned his craft from his mother, Helen Chavez. Featured in galleries around the country, Vincent has also won awards at the New Mexico State Fair and the Denver Indian Market. His silverwork has been noted since the 1970’s, and he designs and creates a full range of jewelry. He now brings his distinctive design style that is recognized and respected to collectors under his own name and hallmark VJP. His beautiful pieces of hand stamped sterling are popular with Native American jewelry collectors.
