W. P. Kinsella's classic Shoeless Joe , the novel upon which the hit movie Field of Dreams was based and winner of the Houghton Mifflin Literary Fellowship Award. Signed and Inscribed by the author directly to the half-title page. I would grade this a G/G+, with some light shelfwear to all extremities (HC & DJ), very slight chipping (2 chips that I can see) to the DJ, foxing to top of title block, a 5-line gift inscription to the FFEP, and bumped (albeit not severely) corners. Still though, an uncommon volume, especially one signed in the state (stated in author's inscription, see photos) where the movie The Field of Dreams would be based on and indeed shot in. Other editions currently available are inscribed with locations scattered throughout the US, this is the only one I know of signed in Iowa that's currently being offered for sale. To me, that makes it a little bit more special.
