Bowenite is a semi-precious form of serpentine that is translucent and comes in various shades of green. It is often mistaken for jade but is easier to cut which results in more detailed carvings. This quality piece of serpentine has been expertly carved in the shape of a bunch of grapes with two adorable chipmunks perched on the top. Even the back side has been beautifully carved with twisting vines and gracefully curved leaves. The carving is from the mid 1900’s and measures 7 1/4 inches wide and 7 1/4 inches tall. It is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks and comes with a fitted wood stand which was also hand carved.
