Hard to find wooden mold used for creating Burmese papier-mâché dolls, from the early 20th century.
The enigmatic expresses nobility and strength. Sculpted, articulated doll molds were covered with papier-mâché to fabricate toy puppets in Burma. The articulated design allowed for the creation of toy puppets with movable limbs.
Made of 100% real wood, measurements are 10” T, 4 W, 3 across. The figure is set half inch above the plinth on steel dowels. Well placed splits in the back ensure the puppets were able dry before removal.

A very interesting piece of history, folk art pieces like this are rare and highly sought after. Would be an amazing talking piece to display!
Always open to considering reasonable offers.
