This wooden food box is an antique handmade item from China and dates from around 1890-1920. It has two sections plus lid and is painted black. There is a wax seal on the side that reads Customs Permission and a Chinese character in the center. No idea when it was actually exported out of China. It has the wear and scarring consistent with its' age. We used it strictly for decoration. Really great interesting conversation piece. Measures 17 high (including handle) and 12 across.
