Vintage Fire Helmet Engine 3 Paxton with a neat story.

Vintage Fire Helmet. This belonged to my youngest son’s best friend’s Grandpa. It had been sitting in his storage building since around the 80s he thinks, back when his Dad was alive. Later he said probably the 50s or 60s coz his Grandad was still alive also. The helmet was owned and worn by his Grandads best bud who was a firefighter. Ironically the firefighter had died in a fire at his own house. He died in his sleep from smoke inhalation after his house caught on fire when it was struck by lightning during a storm.

Honestly I don’t know how much of that is true but this is what I was told when I acquired the helmet about 10 years ago. I’ve never tried to verify any information about it but I’m sure it’s at least somewhat factual. I don’t think he had any reason to lie to me about it. So it’s been a little sentimental to me but I’m trying to downsize so I’d love for it to go to someone that would appreciate it.
