Date: Taisho Period, 6th year, 1917
Title: SOGA MONOGATARI (The tale of Soga - it's the story about the Soga brothers and their revenge).

The book cobtains woodblock print re-strikes after his famous series of the Edo Period. Utagawa Hiroshige, 歌川 広重, born Andō Tokutarō 安藤 徳太郎; (1797-1858).

Woodblock prints of historical subjects are rare in Hiroshige's oeuvre. Series: Illustrated Tale of the Soga Brothers (Soga monogatari zue) , 1856-1857.

Sizes of each print: Each is Hanshi-bon size, (H x W) 24 x 15 cm (9 1/2 x 6 in.)

Print 1: Tora Gozen.
Print 2: Kewaizaka no Shosho with a servant, Cutting Her Hair to Become a Nun.
Print 3: The Soga Shrine at the foot of Mt. Fuji. After the Soga brothers' death, they were worshipped as Shomei-Kojin.
Conditions: Fair. Sharp colors. Some have edge loses/worm holes; see photos.
