Cathrineholm Lotus pattern is a mid-century staple. The iconic modern print and cheerful colors are synonymous with indelible Norwegian design. This gorgeous 5 quart Casserole with cover is one of the more rare color-on-white patterns - in butterscotch (as shown in the catalog image). A modern-day color palette match would be close to an olive green or the famous avocado green of the 70s.In the mid-to-late 60s, Cathrineholm Norway produced this "Lotus" enamel-ware for gas electric plates with a fine porcelain, white finish. Originally marketed as having a finish smooth as glass, harder than steel, and virtually indestructible in normal use.
