A 1970s Golly heavy enamel Robertson's Golden Shred sign with excellent gloss Very collectable
Garnier of London produced these signs between 1970 and around 1990, when the company sadly became defunct.
Many of the signs were based on much earlier advertisements, or replicated signs they and others had made from the 1900s.
Many more were made especially for companies such as Robertson's, Sandemans and Fry's as special giftware.
They also supplied some of these signs to DoDo designs, of Tunbridge Wells. Details and illustrations of some of their 1970s signs can be found on page 71 of “A History of Street Jewellery by Baglee and Morley,
which is an excellent reference book for all enamel signs.
