For your consideration is this beautiful antique Gravy or Sauce Boat made by Johnson Brother's of Staffordshire, England. Replacements identifies the motif as Begonia Blue , but research does not provide anything under that name, but does refer to a pattern called The Exotic Leaf which was advertised in 1895, with the shape being Regina . The bottom bears the printed mark of Royal / Semi-Porcelain / Johnson Bros / England . According to Kovels, this mark was first used in service in 1883. The transfer decoration can be described as being lovely begonia leaves and small flowers on a vine. This pattern can be found in brown, green and blue...this piece bears the blue variant which is more rare than the other two. Advertisements from that time describe the Royal Semi-Porcelain line as being craze and yellowing proof, and this piece being a testament to that boast. The whiteware piece also features a stylized and embossed edges and handle, and does not have a trim color. It measures
