(1920’s) Vintage~Japanese Nippon Dragon Ceramic Display Pocket Planter Flower Vase. The size is 9 x 8 x 2” inches. The inside is 4 x 2” inches. This is one of the first Japanese vase painted. Nippon generally refers to Japanese pottery made during the period from 1891 to 1921. You are looking at beautiful hand painted Nippon vase heavily decorated cloud, dragon in earth tone colors. This is one of the first original Japanese ceramic flower vase holder painted. The dragon with 2 eyes was painted first in the 1920’s. Then years later during 1950’s the Japanese dragon with just 1 eye was created. Therefore, this is a RARE piece!! The beautiful vase is in very good vintage shape. It has been kept inside a China cabinet. You can display this with the stand or hang it up on the wall for your flower arrangements.
