These are some of my favorite gazing balls. Though it does go to personal taste I myself prefer the gazing balls that have the inner swirls. When reading the ball in divination I feel you get much more information when you have indistinct shapes for the sun, candle, and water, or however you're reading your ball to cast from.
Some basic info:
Smelting glass. You might hear this called smelting quartz but this is NOT a natural stone. This is a fantastic divination tool that has been used for years. The phrase crystal ball brings to mind a fortune teller ready to reveal all! But the crystal part is very misleading as a solid high-quality quartz crystal would/still is expensive! Most used glass like this
