Mid-19th Century MuDecanter box, look no further than this colorful antique Faux-book Cave à Liqueur . Crafted in France, circa 1860, the musical liquor box is shaped like four antique books stacked together. Each book has a different name on the spine; , When you lift the top, the Tantalus reveals an interior with glass compartment and dressed with decorative old fashion glass tumblers from later addition, all embellished with embossed gilt motif. The faux book cave is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich patinated leather finish along with gilt tooling.
A collector shared with me an incredible story about this box. He says that this set was part of the meetings of the wealthy gentlemen who met for a drink, played the music of the box and began to share their epic stories of hunting and investments.Keep the old tradition with this unique fine accessory. Perfect as a gift for a collector or a gentleman's study!
