MCM Aldo Tura Goatskin & Brass Art Deco Style Thermos Carafe. Wooden parchment jug with brass handle and jug. The carafe still has the original label. Created by Aldo Tura, in Italy in the middle of the century. Aldo Tura is an experimental furniture designer who has been producing tables, wardrobes and lamps manually since the 1930s. In 1939 he founded his own furniture workshop in Lombardy. In his projects he has used a variety of unusual materials, such as egg shells, parchment, goatskin and wood veneers. The Brooklyn Museum in New York exhibits some of Tura's works, which were originally part of the travelling exhibition Italia at Work.
