This is an extremely rare, vintage to me (antique to another) very intriguing oval shape (guaranteed) 24k gold plated filigree picture frame with the original convex or eventually negative-meniscus lens type glass from the early part of the 1900 that I have kept in my possession for quite some time. The frame contains an image of a wise lady most probably as provided by the manufacturer, based on few observations I’ve always had. The image is printed on a sheet of paper it’s not a picture, the image is mechanically cut to size. The frame has 4 small pins/pegs/nails about 1cm long used to fasten the velvet covered back side to the frame, typical for frames of the 1880-1950sh period. These pins are easily pulled with a finger nail. I myself have seen frames from the 1920-40 belonging to my grandparents that were fastened in the exact same way.The frame is gilded in 24k gold and it looks outstanding, frankly I still debate with my other self if I should offer it for sale… so make your mind quickly because I may change mine again and you will need to find it elsewhere then, or make me rich ;)The most unique though is the original glass in convex shape it could eventually be negative miniscus to bring the focal point I know it’s a shame on me, but I don’t have the original packaging i know it had one howeverI have spent quite some time trying to figure out who did manufacture these frames and when exactly I will appreciate if anyone can provide any detail. Thanks
