Unique painted porcelain brooch. Solid sterling silver construction with both a pendant bail and pin back for a brooch. Front has hinged door holding porcelain plate that features a Victorian couple in full dress. This image used a transfer technique onto the porcelain. There is wear to the transfer which has caused it to lighten over the years with wear. Locket opens easily and closes tight. Brooch has a pin back with a c-clasp with no locking mechanism in place. Good vintage condition with signs of wear to the pin clasp and painting on front. Stamped Hencho en Mexico Sterling 25 JA on the reverse.Â
Acid tests positive for sterling silver.Â
Brooch measures 2.5 inches in diameter.
