Vintage Chinese Reverse Hand-Painted Buddhist Prayer Beads

This beautiful vintage reverse painted glass Chinese Buddhist prayer beads are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or scratches. The colorful detail on each of the hand blown beads is very vibrant and the set comes in its original box.

Various artisans used ancient Chinese techniques and reverse painted these delicate beads using brushes comprised of only a few brush hairs. The beads include Chinese symbols, characters and writings and are each unique works of art.

The set consists of 56 beads in total (2 larger beads at each end - a little over a ½ inch and 54 beads at ½ inch in size); they may vary slightly as they are hand blown. The beads are knotted with yellow silk and each bead has brass end-caps. There is no clasp and the complete set would measures thirty-six inches in length if laid end-to-end. At the very end/beginning is a knotted Chinese Feng Shui decorative good luck tassel. (Due to its age, there is a little fraying at the bottom of the tassel.)
