This is a rare 1899 1 one dollar black eagle banknote ungraded and appears to be in fine condition. This note is an FR 226 Lyons and Roberts. This has shorter serial number than normal WITH ONLY 7 NUMBERS AND NO LETTERS. Most Fr-226 have eight numbers. This one has the delimiter symbols rather than letters before and after the serial number. This is rarely seen on these one dollar Eagle notes. It also has the “SERIES OF 1899” listed above the serial number on the right side, also rarely seen. see first picture. Compare this with other black eagle bank notes. Do your research and see if you can find another one like it. It is not the 226a variety.
This note is also known as a horse blanket it is one of my favorite US notes ever made they are just amazing to look at. Obviously it has vintage ink printed on the back. I think it adds to the appeal. Photos are taken under bright halogen, light and diffuse light. Please “like” this because prices will gradually reduce until gone.
