Lorgnettes glasses were designed to be held up to the eyes rather than worn on the face like traditional eyeglasses. They often feature a mechanism that allows the lenses to fold into a compact form, making them easily portable. This is an antique item. Made of 14k white gold. Please see photos of hallmark. They are in good condition for age and mechanism works but you have to know how to use it gently and you can watch the video I posted for reference. They will look spectacular hanging off a long chain or cord.They weigh 18.2 grams. I don’t know how much of the weight is the glass part.
