The 1st Regiment Infantry, Pennsylvania, also known as The Dandy First, is recognized as the oldest continuously existing command in the Pennsylvania National Guard. It is the only existing Pennsylvania unit with service in the Continental Army, representing Pennsylvania. The regiment has a long history dating back to 1861.
